USER DISAPPEARANCE

When I looked at the computer this morning, the screen indicated that it was making updates. (I did not ask for this). I left the room. When I came back the screen had changed from my husband's (Leonard) to mine (Peggy). I have been using my husband's screen constantly and do not change to Peggy at all. I could not find anything that would indicate I could "Switch Users". My husband's screen has disappeared. I was in the middle of a game yesterday on my husband's screen and the running game is gone. Everything listed on Documents that was listed under Leonard is gone. How can I get this back?

IF you use the Ctrl + Alt + Delete keyboard combination......
Do you see the option to "Switch user"?
