Very high power usage and CPU boosting

Recently my battery has been draining very quickly and its because my system is using a lot of power while boosting my CPU to 4.5 GHz. I recently updated my laptop too. Does it have anything to do with the new update? Previously I'd restart my laptop and the issue would be fixed but that's not working anymore.

That the issue appeared immediately after an update (a Windows update?) is likely more than a coincidence. What was the update (KB number)? Have you tried uninstalling the update to see whether the issue stops?

The issue was there before the update but previously it would go away after restarting the laptop but now it stays no matter how many times I restart it.
I don't remember details about the update but it was a BIOS update I think. I don't really know how to uninstall an update XD
