Why is it you can not view PDF in Chrome anymore? The "about:plugins" options is where you could enable or disable it. Now that "about:plugins" has been removed from chrome. Anybody have any ideas on how to set this up?

In the address bar of Chrome if you enter
Code:
chrome://plugins
and go there you ought to be enable Chrome PDF Viewer which ought to allow you to view PDF's without needing to install an additional extension.

If you go down that route you may want to view Advanced Settings and uncheck the option to offer to save files which may be rather annoying if you only want to read the PDF not download it.

Ahh I was still using Version 56.0.2924.87 (64-bit)

I've updated it to Version Version 57.0.2987.110 (64-bit) and can assure you the PDF Viewer still exists.

Google deprecated the chrome://plugins though so you need to instead:
  • Click that three dot icon top right
  • Select Settings
  • Click on Show Advanced Settings
  • Under Privacy click Contents Settings
  • Then scroll down and select the PDF Viewer
