Window screens go black and only browser works

The following is happening

What is this? Browser continues to work.
start menu works.
Other windows apps are black and when i move the cursor the whole screen refreshes

What video adapter do you have install in the computer?
What driver version (number and date) are you using to support the GPU?

I got the Nvidia GTX 660. I recently updated it for totalwar warhammer.
Tried to see driver version but it's blacking out the window. This is a joke.

Restart you computer in Safe Mode with Networking

Download DDU and run it from here http://www.wagnardmobile.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=273
Download the driver for your GTX660 from here http://www.geforce.com/drivers
Choose to perform a clean custom advanced install and uncheck everything having to do with 3D
Generally when I install mine I just do the drivers and PhysX piece and leave the rest unchecked.
See if that resolves your issue.
