Yesterday morning on Aug. 16, 2016 my Windows 10 Mail App stopped working. Each time I go into the Mail App it automatically exits after a couple seconds. I cannot look at any of my emails using the Mail App.

I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 several months ago using the free Windows 10 upgrade that was downloaded. I have not had any problems with the Mail App until yesterday.

Since the time the Mail App stopped working, numerous Windows 10 Reliability Monitor reports have been generated, showing the following information (shown below).

How do I get the Mail App to start working again?

Thank you.

One additional piece of information: When the Windows 10 Mail App fails, the Reliability Monitor posts a 'Critical Event' Application Failure listed as:

Source = microsoft.windowscommunicationsapps_8wekyb3d8bbwe!ppleae38af2e007f4358a809ac99a64a67c1
Summary = Stopped Working

Until this is resolved, I am accessing my email from a third party POP3 account on their internet website (since I cannot use the Windows 10 Mail App).

When the Windows 10 anniversary version 1607 was loaded onto my computer on Aug. 31, the problem with the Windows Mail App not working was resolved. I suspect the files that had been corrupted were replaced with new files when the anniversary version was installed.
