In June 2016, I successfully upgraded my laptop operating system from windows 7 to windows 10.
I now realise that despite following all the instructions, windows 10 is not showing as being activated.
The windows 10 operating system seems to work normally and is automatically updating regularly.

Using ShowKeyPlus I have all obtained the following system information.
Product Name: Windows 10 Home
Version: 16299.192 (64-Bit OS)
Producr ID: 00326-10000-00000-AA002
Installed Key: YTxxx-N6xxx-DKxxx-7Mxxx-8Hxxx
Original Key: 6Rxxx-F8xxx-QCxxx-KHxxx-RMxxx
Original Edition: Windows 7 Home Premium OEM:SLP
OEM Key: OEM marker present in firmware

I do not understand why the OS does not show as being activated when there appears to be an installed key present.

Any ideas much appreciated.

Go to settings/update&security and click on activation and post a screen shot of your activation window.

Another point.
During the cery early installation procedure, the (second or third, perhaps) window shows the line where you should insert your key. It is quite important that you DO not, put anything in there. It is the current procedure with Windows 10. The oS will self activate, based on information from Windows 8.

My concern is with the OS build number; Version: 16299.192 (64-Bit OS)? Mine is: 17134.345

How old is the 16299 build?

His build is RS3 and still supported. RS1 is no longer supported (14393) and RS2 (15063) should have seen its last update this month (except the Enterprise and EDU version).

He still needs to update his Version as it currently is on build 16299.755 .
16299.192 was update on January 3rd, 2018.

The activation screen is now showing "windows is activated with a digital license"
I really do not know why this has happened but all seems ok.
Thank you all for your time.

My guess would be from your screen shot; servers were down or over loaded at the time.
That is what I was referring to as well. Well, he is up-to-date and his system is activated, that is all that count's, isn't it?
@rao : if you have to re-install from scratch some day, you can skip the serial that is asked for when installing Windows 10. As long as you do not change significant parts in your computer like the main board, you are good to go...

Even if he changes the main board he is ok as long as his old board is registered with his MS account. I have changed numerous motherboards in computers I have worked on including my own. All have had Windows 10 reactivated when logging in to the customer's MS account after the motherboard changes. Sometimes the MS servers are down or running very slow. But all have activated eventually.

Ram1220. If that has worked for you, then I cannot argue the point, but his is what MS have to say.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/20530/windows-10-reactivating-after-hardware-change
The significant para, down the page:
"If you changed your hardware, and Windows 10 wasn’t preinstalled when you bought your PC, and you have an existing Windows product key that was used on your PC prior to the hardware change, click Change product key in the Activation settings page to enter the key. For more information about product keys and digital licenses, see Activation in Windows 10.
•If you changed your hardware, and Windows 10 was preinstalled when you bought your PC, then you may need to purchase a new Windows license. Click Go to Store, and follow the instructions."
