Windows 10 Search Malfunction "Something Went Wrong. Try This Search Again"

Since updating to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 on an HP Envy DV6, my search function is not indexing files. I have rebuilt my index to include all possible file locations, but when using the start menu to search "My Stuff" I am given an error message that reads "Something Went Wrong. Try This Search Again." My file explorer, however, is functional, and my search bar in the start menu is able to find settings and apps. I reverted to Windows 8.1 and then re-installed Windows 10, but that did not resolve the issue.

I have scoured the internet, and it appears a few others are encountering this issue with no resolution either.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
