Windows 10 Trashing My Desktop Folders

Periodically, Windows 10 removes folders from my desktop and puts them in the Recycle Bin. It appears to happen during down time when I am away from my computer. Anybody else have this problem or know the solution to it? I have written Microsoft many times with no response.
