On 2/5/2018 my HP Pavilion it has Windows 10 on it, so last night it did a update and I let it ran all night so when I went to open it this morning I could not log into the computer. My keyboard does not work, I am pretty good with computers I have many files I would like to keep them if I can. I am not afraid of doing a factory rest if I have too the on problem I am scared about is that on the computer it came with Windows 8 than upgraded to 8.1 than Windows 10. I am looking to fix this with out doing a factory reset.

Hi vancer_2000,

Welcome to the Forum.

Does your mouse still work? If yes then on the Sign-in screen:
  • Click the Ease of Access icon on the Bottom Right Corner of screen [ the icon next to Power icon ]
  • Select Onscreen keyboard
  • Click inside the password field to give it focus
  • Select the letters or numbers with mouse from onscreen keyboard
  • Once signed-in, right-click on Start and select Settings
  • In the Windows Settings window select Update & Security
  • On the Left side select Troubleshoot
  • Scroll down and run the Keyboard troubleshoot tool
