Windows 10 won't open and screen flashes

Have a HP dv7 with W7 installed - downloaded W10 but it won't open and has rendered my computer useless - when it gets to my menu desk top office page it just flashes on and off. Cannot use the cursor or get into any programmes. Very frustrating. Need some easy to follow help, please.

Same thing happened to me last night after using Win10 for a few days. I shut down the computer using the power button, then rebooted. Same thing. Did it a second time and it worked ok. No reoccurrence so far but am having other issues with Win10 and MS Office.
