Ok so I started to watch The X-Files on the windows video player that 10 comes with. I am running multiple screens. I like to have something on in the background. while it plays if i click on another screen to do something the player will pause. someway to turn it off?

Have you tried using the Task Viewer? It's the icon on the task bar next to the search box that shows 'Task View' when you hold the mouse pointer over it. It allows you to open multiple copies of your desktop. I've started a video in Windows Media Player, and while it was playing, switched to other active screens with the Task Viewer without interrupting the video.
