Won't reconnect to monitor . . .

I installed W10 on August 10, and all was well for a couple weeks. I share a monitor between a work machine (still on Win7) and my personal tower machine (W10). Typically I toggle the source of my monitor between the two during the day and the last 3 or 4 days I have had to reboot (manually power off/ power on) my W10 machine in order for it to "see" the monitor after I switch its source back to the W10 machine. It is an LG E2360 connected to the W10 box with HDMI. I didn't have trouble initially and never had trouble while using W7. I'd just as soon not revert to W7, but this is very annoying.
