SOLVED Word 2013 document editing

Every time I use Word 2013 and need to edit a document eg to change text size, I have to click on home for the icons to show. Is there a way to always have these showing please.

How do I keep the ribbon always visible?

When I am in a Word doc and want to, e.g., change the font, I have to click on Home, then font size. Afterwards, the ribbon disappears. If I want to do any other formatting, I again have to click on
