Disable Safely Remove Hardware Icon

is there a way to permanently disable that annoying icon?

most of the posts i have read only says how to hide it...

It's there for a reason, I don't see a problem if it's hidden, it's still readily accessible.

Mine is only "visible" or present at all...... IF I actually have a device connected to my computer that is compatible with "Quick Removal".
Otherwise I never see it.
When I eject the device, it goes away until next time.
