Installing Windows 10 on new ssd

I thought I had read you can install Windows 10 on blank disk and activate with valid activation code, I have fitted a SSD to my computer which has Windows 8.1 Pro installed and I just wanted to install Windows 10 Pro to the SSD. Am I correct?

You would have to upgrade Windows 8.1 first to Windows 10 then you can image the Windows 10 and save it to your SSD. It will activate.
