KB5040427 Is Causing Error 0x80240437. It's Disrupting Various Toolbar Features

The other day, my PC received two Microsoft updates: KB5039893, which installed correctly, and KB5040427, which won't install. I get an error message 0x80240437 for the latter. This update is causing issues with my internet connection and affecting several items, notably News & Interests. Hovering over that toolbar feature indicates it cannot connect to the internet and suggests checking the connection or retrying, but neither option resolves the issue. This problem has persisted since July 14, 2024. I've attempted several fixes found online, but they've only led to more problems, requiring me to undo the changes. I hope someone can offer a solution.
