Hello! I have one word file which was created in Office 2007 on Windows 7. Then with the release of Windows 10, I decided to upgrade to Windows 10. Also, I decided to start using Office 365. Now I can't open this old word file.

When I tried to open it, I got a message:

"Word was unable to read this document. It may be corrupt. Try one or more of the following:

'Open and repair file, open the file with the Text Recovery converter' ".

What do I do in this situation? what does that mean?

Here are a couple of steps that I found that could help you restore the data from these files.

1. In Word 2007, click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Open.

2. In the Open dialog box, click to highlight your Word document.

3. Click the arrow on the Open button, and then click Open and Repair.
