Hello,

When I right-click on a file to delete it, instead of the file going to the recycle bin, it is immediately deleted.

How can I fix this?

Thank you.

Right click on your recycle bin and click on "properties". There will be three options listed:

1. Custom size (where you can adjust the size of it
2. Don't move files to Recycle Bin. Remove files immediately when deleted
3 Display delete confirmation dialog

if the second option is marked with a blue circle, click on the first option. Checking the third option is optional.

Do this for every drive listed.

Hope that helps

Also note that holding down the Shift key while clicking Del will bypass the Recycle Bin but should get a prompt about that.

To fix a corrupted system, run SFC. The system file checker, sometimes known as SFC, is an effective built-in utility for examining and fixing damaged files. 'SFC /scannow' is the command to input and press enter to utilize it. Open the command prompt. The SFC will fix your corrupted recycle bin by doing its magic.
