Snipping Tool - Misbehaving

I use the snipping tool multiple times a day if not hour.

Lately I have been having the following issue>
Left click upper left corner of image
Start to drag down and to the right
the snip stops on its own so I get 1/10 of what I want.

I thought, perhaps a mouse issue?

I also have Snagit installed and those captures work all the time.!

Snagit is a better tool but I find Snipping tool hand for its speed/

Ideas?

anything to do with your graphics card drivers?, what GPU do you have?.

IF you reboot your machine does the Snipping Tool work normally again?

Go to 'Windows Accessories' > Snipping Tool > right click > 'Pin to start' then pin to taskbar, that is how I've got my 'Snipping Tool' as i also use it very often and this method has never ever failed and its worked for me perfectly without any problems.

I've been having those problems too. I tried rebooting my computer, but I got the same problem. And the problem has also struck Snip & Sketch too.

As davehc said. The issue with timeliness is that we've had at least 3 Version Upgrades since that post in Oct. 2018 and the poster's Version may be even older.
