Since getting a custom built computer from a reputable company with Windows 10, I am unable to delete photos from my SD card after importing. There used to be an option to "delete after importing?"
Try closing the pic folder after importing, the click on This PC, locate the SD card that contains the pics left click to open the removable and delete them as you would with any file folder.
Right, simple file management in File Explorer works. Maybe what you did on the previous computer was accomplished by third-party software, some such programs come with cameras and there are some downloadable.
I've always been told it's best to format the card each time (using the camera) instead of deleting the pics. I've been doing it that way for 15 years.
