Windows Update error 0x800F0922: 2024-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5040427)

After a fresh Windows install just a few weeks ago, I’m encountering error 0x800F0922 with the 2024-07 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 22H2 (KB5040427). The update process reaches 100%, but then starts undoing changes. This issue also occurs when attempting to update to Windows 11.
I’ve tried all the usual fixes, including running the troubleshooter, checking the EFI partition, and disabling antivirus, but nothing seems to help. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?
