Excel sheets are used by a lot of people to keep track of their names, phone numbers, emails, and addresses. It makes it easy to keep track of a lot of contacts. But when you try to move these contacts to your iPhone, you will face a problem- iPhones do not accept Excel files for importing contacts. iPhones use a format called vCard (.vcf) to store contact information.
So, before you can add your Excel contacts to your iPhone, you need to change your Excel file (.xls or.xlsx) into a vCard (.vcf) file.
Manual Method (Free Option)-
- To save the Excel file as a CSV file, open it and select Save.
- Now, go to your Windows PC and Open the folder called Contacts. Click Import → Pick CSV → Upload your file and map the contact fields.
- Select Export when you're done importing. Pick the vCard file and then save it.
- Now you can either use iTunes to move the vCard file or upload it to iCloud.
Note: It is possible for this method to be slow and hard to understand if you have a lot of contacts or aren't familiar with the steps.
