This screenshot describes my problem better than I could.

This folder is stored in OneDrive. I performed all 3 of the steps located here: https://www.windowscentral.com/how-reset-thumbnail-cache-windows-10
None of them worked on this folder in OneDrive to bring my icons back.

So I copied the folder and then pasted it on my desktop. The icons are now showing when I open on my desktop, but not in the original folder stored in OneDrive.
Here is a screenshot of the same page shown in the first screenshot:

Can anyone tell me what's gone wrong here?

This is exactly why I don't use Onedrive.....it's intrusive, abusive, it's not GUI friendly and annoying with only 5GB of storage. It's been problematic for most users since MS offered it. I just uninstall the darn thing.

That said, I use Chrome and with it I use Backup and Sync it's 15 GB or free storage....it's simple and very easy to use. Not to be confused with Google Drive which does the same thing as Onedrive and I don't use it either.
