No RTL818x

I recently purchased a Realtek 11n USB Wireless LAN Utility, but after installing the drivers for Windows 10 from the CD it came with, then restarting when promted, and then plugging in the adapter - All that shows is the message "no RTL818x" and I am not able to proceed any further. I would appreciate any help on the matter.
