Beats Solo 3s can't use mic and headphones at same time

I have seen so many people with the same issue as me but little to no progress on this problem. When using any headset on my dell inspirion 15 7000 gaming laptop running widows 10, I can't use my microphone while i'm listening to anything, I can set the Microphone as the default microphone for my computer, but upon doing this it will cut out all audio for the headphones. I'm stuck with using the headphones and the built in mic in the laptop which doesn't sound too great while i'm typing. Any help would be appreciated.
