I look at the mask thing a bit different, if someone is wearing a mask they are protecting themselves and me at the same time.

They don't protect you, you can catch it through your eyes.
Anyway, I refuse to be safe. I don't wear a cycle helmet either, I don't protect myself from the unlikely.

It's obvious. Your eyes are very susceptible to things going in them, they are full of bodily fluids. Excellent place for a virus to enter. All a mask does is stop you passing things on to someone else.
