The NAS device connects directly to a Linksys router via USB.
All other devices in the house can access the NAS drive. PC's-Window's and Linux, ipad's and iphone's and Android tablets.
One of the PC's is Win10 Pro as is the Surface.

What I normally do to start is open File Explorer and look at the network section. If you know the name of the device, type the following in the search box. Hopefully, it will allow you to enter a password which will put that info in the credentials section of Win 10.

\\DeviceName\YourAccount

My NAS is on the actual network so the USB connection may require you going to the Linksys router first, maybe the admin page to set up the connection. So you might try \\DeviceName for the router (or its IP address) and see where that goes.

Thanks Saltgrass.
I'm guessing that by the following message that popped up after typing your suggestion, that the surf-pro takes security quite seriously. More so than any other device on the network.

Oh, OK, I have heard those terms but I get the impression the device is older.

In case you did not know, you blacked out part of the path but left it in the title line...
