I have just reloaded Win 10 from MS, into my Lenovo T5. I did a clean install but didn’t re-format the M2 HD, maybe I should have but that shouldn’t make any difference. Now for the problem, when Win 10 starts up I can type the 4 numbers required into the password slot using the “Num Pad” & it opens Win 10 as it should, On some things that require numbers it will work there also. But that is very few things that you are required to type #’s in to do anything. The # pad will not type any #’s in any browser search bar, Word, Excell, Word Pad either. If you open Google & go to the search bar & type the #2 key the secondary function (down arrow) will go down 1 x 1 thru your history list which shows each place you have been in yahoo search but it will not type 2 or any # in that Browser Search bar box. Now this just started recently all of a sudden which is why I thought re-loading Win 10 might fix it. Could there be something stuck in the HD or CPU that is causing this that a reformat would clear out? Please someone give me any idea how to fix this B/4 it goes to a repair shop. Someone did suggest getting new drivers but I can't seem to find them on the MS website.

Are you pressing the NumLock key before using the number pad? The default is for it to be off but there is a 'tweak' that enables it at boot-up but in reality I found that only restores the status it was in when rebooted or shut down. Also check the BIOS for a setting for On.
