I own a lenovo legion y720 with a 6gb GTX 1060 with the latest upgrade of the windos to 1903 the computer came up with several shutdown problems of not recognizing the video card anymore, and now after leaving it turned on to update it simply burned , presenting a very strong smell of burn in the sector of the video card.
And now ?

Since it's a Notebook any damage to the video adapter usually means a new motherboard. One thing I'd try [and have done] is plugging in an external monitor, usually a VGA port used for projectors and external displays but could be an HDMI port or maybe a DisplayPort, then use the Fn plus another F key to activate to that display. If that doesn't work it's back to a replacement motherboard. If the Notebook is out of warranty or a few years old it usually is more cost-effective to get a new one or a Renewed/Refurbished on sale that comes with a 1-year warranty. If still in warranty get Lenovo or the dealer involved.
