Grinding No Boot

Hi Guys,

Been a while since I came here for help - my Studio PC has randomly decided it no longer wants to boot up and is making a looping grinding/churning sound when I press the on-switch.

Any idea what might be causing this and how I can fix this?

The only "churning, grinding" sound I could imagine, on initial boot, would be the HD, if it is a spinner.
Easiest way to try, is to insert installable OS media and reinstall the OS. If the it throws up a fault in the initial stage, you probably need a new HD.

Another possibility could be an Optical disc in the CD/DVD drive, trying to locate any boot files on it. Have seen the same on the older computers with floppy disks/drives.
