My keyboard has a numeric keypad, but no NumLock key. How do I use the num pad? At present the keys do funny things (jump between windows etc.) which presumably means they are not in numlock mode. Maybe there should be a LED when in numlock mode ? There is curently no such LED alight. How do I gfet into numlock mode?
My computer is a Dell XPS8700 running W10.
Thank you - Rowan

Select the "options" key, then tick "turn on the numeric keypad," then a NumLock button appears in the bottom right-hand corner of the onscreen keyboard, click it to turn on num lock and use a plug-in keypad for numbers, or turn it off to use the keypad as arrow keys to navigate about.

It may be easier to help if you tell us what keyboard you have instead the computer model. Since this is a desktop you can basically use any keyboard there is. A picture of your keyboard may help us to help you.
