I had started a conversation at windows questions and answers about my concerns with windows 10 update and my Alienware MX17. I would like to personally thank the two tecs who gave their time to answer my concerns and helped prompt me to update-Thanks so much! I have found even though I have to get used to navigating around after being used to Win7 that my Aienware features all work (which some at Alienware said would be a problem) like my command center,Nvidia panel etc. and that a Cyberlink Ultra 15 program which gave me unresolved issues on 7 works fine (so far) on 10. I am very pleased although issues may arise I am very glad to get the newest platform and keep up to date. Thanks again to the two tecs which gave me support and advice and thanks Microsoft for a seamless update which looks to be better than what I had, Thanks! hopefully this post will encourage others with similar models to give the upgrade a try (backing up data and being sure to have a rollback options although as a update system restore should suffice, Alienrespawn or the original install disk would be other options). I am stoked!

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Thanks for joining and taking the time to share your experience with us here at Windows 10 Forums.
I'm glad to hear that your upgrade was painless and pleasant and apparently went without a hitch.
That however does not seem to be everyone's experience ..... would that it were.
Still though.....
Very good to hear from you and thanks again.

YeaH I feel very happy-I did take the time to read up on the install As I run a Alienware which has it's third party programs and particularities. I did learn that there could be a point where some programs would fail or malfunction but waiting for a bit then restarting the computer would likely solve any issues like this-which was good to know thanks to the support people here. I have two main concerns-mandatory updates which may cause problems on my computer-even if I go to a restore point or reinstall the OS completely how will i avoid those very same updates? and I really would like windows 10 on hard disc with key even though there are recovery methods to use. I seem to have trouble with other methods and its likely due to both being somewhat inept at knowing all I need to or in saving the recovery info and not being sure if it's flawed or corrupted, or If i did it right. Anyhow If they pass out points here all the tecs who took the time to help me did such a fine job It convinced me to go ahead and I am very glad I did-thanks once more. p.s. I maybe should pose my new questions and concerns in a new forums question-but it might fit better here-(all in one spot)you tell me.
