Defender-Norton and Win10

My question is I have Win10 and Norton provided by Comcast but have Defender turned off. How good is Defender compared to Norton as I'm thinking do I really need Norton anymore? Does Defender scan Outlook 2010 mail?

Short answer is yes, Defender will serve all of your needs..and not being a fan at all of Norton products I personally would most definitely uninstall ALL traces of the program using their removal tool https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/norton-removal-tool/
And as far as I know Defender will scan Outlook incoming emails although I don't use Outlook so it's just an educated guess.
