Hello, while downloading something from GitHub, I accidentally got a RAT. I noticed it logged into my Discord and advertised a server. I had tamper protection off when I downloaded it, which I know was a mistake.
Windows Defender and the MRT scan report no corrupt files, but when I used the Microsoft Safety Scanner, it found some corrupt files and removed them. However, upon retesting, it still indicates there are corrupt files. I’ve run the SFC scan, which reports no issues, and did both scans in safe mode as well.
What steps can I take to ensure the RAT is fully removed and that I don't have any remaining corrupt files? Would a factory reset be necessary, or should I continue using the Microsoft Safety Scanner until it shows no issues?
Edit: I also restored my PC to a point before the RAT infection.
