How to copy OneDrive folder from a damaged computer

I have a customer’s notebook that won’t start due to water damage to the motherboard and is beyond repair. I removed the NVMe drive and connected it to a working Windows 10 computer via a USB adapter. I also attached a new 1TB external HDD to copy the data from the NVMe drive.
When I go to the Users folder, select the account folder, and attempt to copy it to the new HDD, the process starts fine. However, when it reaches the OneDrive folder, which contains files synced to the cloud, I encounter a "Cloud Service is not running" error and cannot copy those files.
Is there a way to bypass the permission or security issues with the OneDrive folder to copy it to the new HDD, so I can ensure a complete backup? Alternatively, should I just copy as many files as possible now and have the customer re-download the OneDrive files from their Microsoft account when they get a new computer? I have tried using Windows default copy, TotalCommander, and TeraCopy, but none of these methods work for copying all the files.

Any specific advice would be greatly appreciated, as generic solutions about restarting cloud services or signing out do not apply in this situation.
