Import not recogonizing latest photos on iphone

I am running Win 10 Home V1709 Build 16299.371. The iPhone 5 is IOS 11.3.1. When I view the photos on the phone the latest photos can be viewed. When I import them or look at the phone memory on the computer they are not there. I have imported from this phone before but not using the latest photos viewer in Win 10.

I tried the suggestions and it did not help. I looked around some more and came across an Apple app called AirMore. I downloaded the app and once I learned how to use it (You must use browsers Chrome or Firefox) and you export the photos to your computer. It worked great. I was able to select only the photos I wanted. This post can be closed.
