Ok, I've searched and read and searched and read. With 10, how to check ink levels. Prior to 10, it was that behemoth of HP's proprietary software/driver. Don't want that, even if it can be used with 10 -- and I've heard that it cannot.

Any ideas? Many Thx.

I am not aware of any windows OS, including Windows 10, that can check your ink levels, but I can stand corrected. This has always been the responsibility of the printer manufacturer.
Some can show the info, through the OS however, usually on the taskbar.

I have a Brother and two HPs for home use. The Brother does, through its own software, show the ink levels on the taskbar. All three, though, can show it directly on the printer menu.
