Is ZTNA taking place of VPN?

I keep hearing this term Zero trust network access (ZTNA) a lot of times from Multi-factor authentication(MFA) and two factor authentication (2FA) dealers and wondering if this is the new network security taking place of VPN or it’s just another new marketing buzz word
