I am having trouble deploying the KB5040427 update, as it repeatedly fails. I also tried manual installation using the downloaded installer from the Microsoft Update Catalog.
Additionally, I followed the steps from this Microsoft Community thread: "KB5040427 installation repeatedly fails." The suggested solution was to run the command:

fsutil resource setautoreset true c:\

and then restart Windows. Despite this, the issue persists.

Any advice on how to resolve this would be appreciated.

You should try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter from Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot. Sometimes, this can detect and fix underlying issues. Also, make sure your system is fully updated with other patches, as missing updates cause installation problems.
