I have a new W11 laptop and it has a 560GB SSD hard drive setup as a single drive, , I would like to set it up so that the operating system (W10) is on one partition and all subsequent programs installed on the second partition, I dont doubt there is plenty of info out there on how to do that but i have not found any clear advice and would appreciate advice.
The reason for this is that my Huawei Matebook 16 laptop came with W11 installed and I cannot find anything and even when I do (ie. my PC, this not on the start menu and even when I do a search and locate it, on right clicking and clicking "pin to start," it is not on the options offered, same applies to others like control panel, so I have bought a copy of W10 Pro with key and intend to downgrade from W11 to W10.
any assistance on how to set the partitions up, installing any exe. progs on the C: drive and the rest on the second partition presumably D: would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance,

Hi Boyd, you can partition your SSD using the Disk Management tool in Windows. Just right-click the Start button, select "Disk Management," shrink your C: drive, and then create a new partition from the unallocated space. This will give you a new D: drive where you can install programs by selecting it during installation.

Try using MiniTool Partition Wizard for an easier experience. Download and install it, shrink your C: drive to create unallocated space, and then create a new partition. You can then install programs on the new partition by choosing it during setup.

Hello Boyd, before downgrading to Windows 10, back up your data. Use Disk Management to shrink the C: drive and create a new partition. When installing programs, select the D: drive as the installation path. If you need more help, feel free to ask!
