This morning I was greeted with a couple updates to Windows 10 (10240).
My first machine (clean install) managed to download and install them both without any problems.
My second machine (upgraded from Windows 8.1) however is still showing......

And has been for over an hour now.
Looks like it may be time to go back to my Windows 8.1 image and wait the five days and see if it gets any better.

Anyone else with the same of similar issue.... here's what I did to fix it
Rebooted to Safe Mode. Hold the shift key while clicking restart and follow the bouncing ball to the safe mode option.
Opened an elevated command prompt and typed
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistrution SoftwareDistribution.OLD
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 catroot2.OLD

Rebooted and

Both of my machines updated without problems. I wonder though why we are all of a sudden seeing a bunch of security updates? Have we been testing a system that had a lot of security flaws and Microsoft is trying to plug them up before the 29th? Also got an NVIDIA video card driver update on both machines but there is no new driver posted on either the NVIDIA or EVGA sites. The new driver updates caused both machines to encounter some really weird video that was fixed with a reboot of both machines. Everything is working now but it casts some serious doubts about being forced to install updates. Got lucky this time with reboots but who know about next time.

I have had Nvidia updates on the preview machine that has an Nvidia card. They work BUT ecery time I have to go into the Nvidia control centre and reset the size of my screen. My Nvidia card poersists in overscanning the TV I'm using for a monitor.

And I keep getting two HP 7520 updates that have no meaning whatsoever I wish I could make them go away. The updates date from 2009 or some dumb thing.

Updates broken again and we are only hours away from unleashing Windows 10 on a trusting public:
