Nikon D800 not recognized by Windows 10

I cannot get windows 10 to recognize my camera. What am I doing wrong or just not doing?

I have downloaded new firmware and software already and windows will not recognize my D800. Thanks.

The manual says you have to install the software from the ViewNX 2 installer CD before connecting the camera. Also, don't turn the camera on until it is connected to the computer.
