Agreed....... Can you post a screen shot of your device manager window? I'll attempt an educated guess here and say that usually that driver is associated with the chipset driver. Sometimes it's the PCI simple commutations driver which can be associated with the sound driver. These are the most common to look at first.
And don't forget some motherboard resources may use the PCI 'channel' like a card reader, USB ports, etc. One of my older Notebooks has a PCMCIA port and drivers for it can't be found.
