Power Off problem - right-clicking only

It's a minor problem but a frustrating one - I have W10 installed and it seems okay in general but when wanting to Shut Down etc, left clicking on the W icon at bottom left of my screen often doesn't work and I have to right click instead.

Since installing W10 there are a couple of forums I frequently visit which insist on me Logging In to read new posts or add to threads etc despite already being logged in.

any help greatly appreciated.
