Preventing the drive icon for an SSD partition from reverting to CDrom.

Once a week I access a 500Gb SSD which has four partitions. The second partition (and ONLY that one) keeps appearing in Windows Explorer with a CDrom icon. I have a software that corrects it, but I would like to stop it reverting to CDrom. I do not know what triggers the reversal.
