What the heck is a "preview CU update KB4580364"? We now have preview updates.....it's listed as an optional update but still. I'm not an insider or change any settings to allow any preview updates. So what gives?

Good question.
I think (and it's only a best guess) that....
It's an opportunity to get out in front of updates that we all are likely to see presented in the next scheduled update Tuesday.
In this current caste, Tuesday Nov 10th 2020

Why do we need to get ahead of an update....why not just push out the actual update? Is it just me or it just doesn't make sense.

Really....MS? What have they been smoking.....cuz apparently we all need it so we can understand it.

Anyway....Randy, did you install it?

While on the the subject of MS doing dumb shite......Is the 20H2 ISO actually out and ready. I'm still hearing conflicting info on the matter. I wish there was a way to tell some how.

Not sure it is necessarily for the "WE", it's more likely for the "them" so as to get an early look at any issues it might be causing.
The "WE" are just the crash test dummies.
Anyway....Randy, did you install it?
Yep... Always been a glutton for punishment.

This is what they call NON-security updates nowadays (probably in remembrance of the Windows 7 and Windows 8 Preview updates).
Don't worry, these are included in the next update day anyway.

They also do it to find out how bad they screwed up again ;)

I got mine at 1:02 PM today. I was wondering why that all of a sudden my PC seemed slow and sluggish at that time......it was updating.
