Slow laptop

I have an old laptop that is running very slowly that i wrote about recently. I finally managed to install all the updates it was missing and am now trying to work out why its running so slowly. I notice it it has a service called VIA Karaoke digital mixer service, and am wondering if this could be the cause. What is this, do I need it, is it malware. If so how do I remove it? TIA

A few specs of your laptop would be nice. I myself had a slow laptop. To improve speed and performance I maxed out the RAM and changed the HDD to a SSD which brought a big performance boost.
Might be something to consider.

In regard of your VIA karaoke digital mixer service, this service might be part of your soundcard, at least that is what I am thinking
