You can try just checking Windows Update again, you do have to have Windows Firewall turned on even if you are using a third party app like AIS.

Here's a solution you won't like: I read this somewhere and it is true. Just let your PC grind it out even if it takes an hour or more. I've looked at downloading 63 updates 0% complete and just let it do it's own thing. Sooner or later (mostly later) it will.

I am now using a new Dell 5558 7 Pro which is driving me nuts with updates. I was running driver update but sound on hdmi to TV kept going out. I finally bit the bullet and changed settings to never check for updates. I've heard of other users who do this out of sheer frustration with constant changes.

If this PC is new it shouldn't need hundreds of changes. I'm more satisfied with the way it runs as is and that's what counts.
