View Files -does not show JPEG or Other Images

I have 2 independent computers with the same problem ...in file explorer "VIEW" no longer shows image files as images. Rather - a Symbol is present based on type of file JPEG etc.

Other computers in the system - all updated the same...work

Went to the area where you select PHOTO (the default) or other JPEG reading software...NADA
The Photo and other software work when run on their own.

System Mechanic and other system analysis software do not indicate any problems with the system of underlying software packages

How do I get "View" to show images??

How did you setup the file explorer to show the files??

Details, small icons, list as those only show symbols. Content, tiles and medium to extra large icons show pictures (thumbnails).
However, you have to untick in the folder options --> view the option [always show icons, never thumbnails]. then click [ok].
