Windows 10 Defender was giving me far, far too many false positives and it became very annoying. I installed McAfee which is much more to my liking. I am a Microsoft insider so getting the normal updates to windows 10 Pro 64 bit via that.
But now every time I boot or reboot I get a message "This app is turned off by group policy"
I checked using gpedit and indeed turn off defender is "enabled" so that seems proper.
I tried using HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender
DisableAntiSpyware DWORD to disable defender and the message still appears every time I boot/reboot..
I tried using "Turn_Off_Windows_Defender.reg" and the message still shows after every boot/reboot
I tried stopping the Defender Inspection service but every time I uncheck it in services it goes right back to being checked.
If I try to open defender via control panel I also get the same message.
How in the world do I get that stupid message to go away every time I boot or reboot?
